It’s Not About Me

This powerful message challenges one of the most pervasive lies we believe: that our lives are about us. Drawing from Isaiah 40:31 and the concept of mounting up like eagles, we're confronted with a radical truth—our entire existence, every breath we take, every blessing we receive, is not for our personal glory but for God's ultimate purpose. The teaching uses a fascinating comparison from the entertainment industry, explaining that while God is the 'star' of our life story, we are the 'co-stars'—supporting characters whose role is to move His plot forward, not our own. This reframing is revolutionary because it exposes how much of our prayer life, our ambitions, and even our spiritual practices can become self-centered. We pray for promotions, possessions, and personal breakthroughs while missing the larger narrative: we were created in God's image to reflect His glory, just as a diamond reflects light. When we grasp that eternity far outweighs our brief time on earth, suddenly that argument with a brother over twenty dollars, that need to be recognized for our good deeds, that obsession with social media followers—it all fades in significance. The mount up year isn't about what we can accumulate or achieve; it's about aligning ourselves with God's agenda for humanity, changing our heart posture in prayer from 'give me' to 'use me,' and understanding that the blessings we receive are tools for His kingdom, not trophies for our shelf.
