Disrupting The Seasonal Cycle
As we enter the darker, colder months of the year, we face a spiritual battleground that many of us don't fully recognize. This message confronts the reality that seasonal cycles often trigger depression, anxiety, loneliness, and unhealthy patterns in our lives. Drawing from Psalm 18:28—'You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness'—we're challenged to understand that our ability to 'glow in the dark' depends on absorbing energy from God's presence. The sermon series title itself is profound: just as certain materials absorb light and release it in darkness, we must saturate ourselves in God's Word and presence so we can shine when the world grows dim. The message doesn't shy away from uncomfortable truths, including the reality of spiritual warfare intensified during autumn months when, according to occult practices, the 'veil between worlds' is believed to thin. We're reminded that Ephesians 6:12 tells us our battle isn't against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. The practical applications are transformative: maintaining physical cleanliness in our homes and bodies, keeping structured schedules, limiting social media consumption, and practicing regular fasting. These aren't just good habits—they're spiritual warfare strategies that deny unclean spirits the unclean places they seek to inhabit. The question we must answer is simple yet profound: Will we let this season defeat us again, or will we finally disrupt the cycle?
